So in May it was Matarangi visit time again to find that with recent storms & high tides the estuary end of the beach was altered somewhat...
Also one of our favourite walks was a tad 'damp' (walking on water?!)
However storms do pass & the lovely Autumn weather continued into June. Hotel 'break' time by the spa & outdoor heated pool.
Next visit to Matarangi, bro Roger managed to track down a 'Fergie' (Ferguson) just to keep him amused & use for trundling boats & the like around...Just HAD to remind myself what it was like to drive one after ...um....say, 40+ years...!
July visit still saw some sun. Enough for the K store walk icecream (this is a single scoop!) Also got a swim in...avec Spring wetsuit...
So back in Auckers, bro Roger tested the latest prize...a boat! Beauty Buccaneer, 'Soulmates' was tested a couple of times in the working week (for some!) Not yet fishing season though...
Time for the next icecream stop after a Winter walk mid-week, hence the empty beach. This time @ our local beach, Maraetai.
August saw the arrival of dear friend Mavis & partner, Steve, from Melbourne. Spent a lovely weekend with them. The same weekend the All Blacks retained the Bledisloe cup!
The latest 'prize' from the vege patch which has kept us in veg for months.
As I complete this delayed blog (had 'bloggers block' for a while there...) it's frreeeezzzzing outside as the REAL Winter throws something at us (snowy conditions...) before we head off to warmer (hopefully!) climes in the UK & Italy. Look forward to blogging from the 'top of the World' soon....
